Student Cluster Competition

• What is the name of your team and why did you choose it?
  
  The name of our team is Wolfpack HPC. The reason why we chose it is because our school mascot is wolfpack.
  
  
• Why do you think your team will have an edge in the event (what's your secret sauce)?
  
  Beginner’s luck! #fingers#crossed
  
  
• What have you done to prepare that makes your team unique?
  
  We started forming the team in February 2019. Once the team was formed, the team members took CSC 548—Parallel Systems under the guidance of Dr. Frank Mueller. This semester, the team members are taking ECE 498 with Dr. Greg Byrd to assist the team members’ work for the competition. Other than that, the team members have been practicing with clusters on campus: Henry2 and ARC. We also had a lot of help from Cisco!
  
  
• What are you most looking forward to in the competition?
  
  We are looking forward to the exposure to the international supercomputing community.
  
  
• How long will it take you to get to Denver?
  
  It will take us about 4-6 hours to get to Denver depending on the flights.
  
  
• What do your team members do for fun?
  
  
  • Janak likes working out and watching youtube videos in his free time.
    
    
  • Elijah participates in the marching band, enjoys baking and history research.
    
    
  • Berra likes playing the guitar, skiing in winter, traveling, seafood, languages, and pretty much anything fashion related.
    
    
  • Quinn loves cooking, music and fashion.
    
    
  • Tri enjoys wine tasting, roman empire history, and perfume reviewing.
    
    
  • Michael loves playing the piano.
  
  
• If your team had a theme song, what would it be?

• Can you share an interesting fact about your team?
  
  All the team members are Electrical & Computer Engineering students!
  In total, we speak 6 languages: English, Turkish, Vietnamese, Hindi, Gujarati, Spanish!
